Marsh boosts communications, media and technology unit Marsh has boosted its communications, media and technology (CMT) team for clients in the UK and Ireland with two new appointments. Carrick Lambert will lead the CMT practice while Sam Tiltman takes up the role of CMT practice executive. Mr Lambert has worked for Marsh since 2008, most recently as senior relationship officer and sales leader within Marsh's UK financial and professional division. Mr Tiltman joins from JLT where he was global CMT practice leader. Mr Tiltman will manage the CMT practice's clients and drive product innovation.hideBoth Mr Lambert and Mr Tiltman will be based in London and report to Charles Beresford-Davies, Marsh's UK & Ireland risk management practice leader. Mr Beresford-Davies said: "Faced with an increasingly complex and fast-moving risk environment, Marsh's CMT clients require solutions, services, and insights that are tailored to their particular needs." HDI Global and Thomas Miller partner for offshore risks HDI UK and Thomas Miller Specialty have joined forces to write new offshore marine and energy risks in 2017. Managing general agency Thomas Miller Specialty said the risks will be underwritten from offices in London and Aberdeen. The newly formed team for offshore marine and energy risks will be led by Bernt Hellman. Richard Taylor, managing director of HDI Global SE - UK, said: "It is our common goal for Thomas Miller Specialty to be in a position to bind business at the beginning of 2017." Thomas Miller Specialty said the underwriting partnership extends its existing MGA activities in marine, space, cyber and corporate kidnap and ransom. "This is a significant and exciting step in Thomas Miller Specialty's MGA strategy," said Roger Lewis, deputy chairman of Thomas Miller Specialty. XL Catlin expands fine art policy XL Catlin has added business interruption and public liability cover to its fine arts insurance policy aimed at European museum risk managers and collectors. XL Catlin's Mosaic policy covers collectors of fine arts and jewellery in France, Italy, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland. It is designed as an all risk policy for collectors, museums, art galleries and jewellers. The new wording is an extension of existing cover for property, liability and transport. The policy also insures the risk of loss, theft and damage while on display, in storage or in transit, as well as the buildings storing or displaying fine art. Yannick Daucourt, EMEA regional manager for fine art & specie at XL Catlin, said: "Europe has historically been a significant marketplace for the arts and this is true today...a large number of new private museums will open in the near future and collectors will become more engaged with public museums, lending their art for exhibitions." Mr Daucourt added: "We seek to regularly update our offering to meet the needs of not only art collectors and professionals, but also jewellers. From sourcing gems to transporting their finished products and lending items for high profile events, the risks they face are complex and varied." Nash heads up Guy Carpenter's new international unit Guy Carpenter has appointed its first president of international business after bringing together its non-US operations under a single unit. James Nash, currently head of Guy Carpenter's Asia Pacific operations, will move to London to take up the new role, reporting to president and CEO of Peter Hearn. The international division will house Guy Carpenter's operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and Asia Pacific. The company said it will appoint a new head for its Asia Pacific division in 2017. "Guy Carpenter's International Division will advance our ability to apply best practices around the world," said Mr Hearn. "The new Guy Carpenter organisational structure reflects our commitment to delivering a high-quality and consistently compelling global client experience," Mr Hearn said. AEGIS London appoints for political risk expansion Political risk underwriter David Lineham has moved to AEGIS London's Lloyd's syndicate where he will establish and develop the company's political risk portfolio. Mr Lineham joins AEGIS after working as senior underwriter at XL Catlin for four years. Mr Lineham said: "Recent events in the worlds of trade, finance and politics serve only to confirm the growing relevance and reach of this maturing product line." He has previously worked for Marsh's Political Risk and Structured Credit Practice, as well as political risk underwriter at Aspen Insurance UK Ltd. Last month, AEGIS London also appointed Graeme Tennyson as director of risk and compliance and Hermien Smeets-Flier as chief financial officer.
