Airmic launches risk management fundamentals course
Training aimed at newcomers to risk management and those from other professions
UK risk management association Airmic has launched a new course to help people learn about the fundamentals of risk management, aimed at those new to the profession and those in other roles that want to better understand how to manage risk.
The move should help spread risk management throughout organisations and provide risk managers with a real opportunity to ensure colleagues and management better understand what the role can deliver. This should be a big help as the profession continues to strive to bolster its standing and strategic influence.
Airmic said the new Risk Management Fundamentals (RMF) course will equip students with the “essential knowledge and skills to navigate the increasingly complex world of risk”.
The course can be taken over three half days online or two full days in person. It is open to Airmic members and non-members from any sector or organisation. It costs between £495 and £795, depending on whether you are an Airmic member and taking it online or in person.
The course can also be delivered in-house, tailored to a specific organisation.
It is based around the following modules.
- Module 1: The Evolution, Language, and Business Rationale for Managing Risk
- Module 2: The What and the Why of Managing Risk
- Module 3: The Risk Management Framework
- Module 4: The Risk Management Process
- Module 5: The Relationship between Risk, Governance, Assurance and Sustainability
- Module 6: Risk in Today’s World, Tomorrow’s World, and the Real World
“We hope that you will agree the course offers a great introduction to the subject of risk management, whether you are just starting out on your professional journey, whether you are changing your professional direction, or whether you just want to know more about the important subject of risk management to support you in delivering your wider objectives,” said Airmic CEO Julia Graham.
“The course uses up-to-date materials, modern and practical language, delivered using an interactive style of learning, supported by real case studies,” added Airmic’s CEO.
The move is a new but natural development for Airmic, she said.
The first course starts on 26 September, with more planned throughout this year. Places are limited.
