Alta Signa Europe opens Swiss office with D&O offering

Europe managing general agent Alta Signa has opened an office in Switzerland, focused initially on directors’ & officers’ liability insurance and with plans to expand into financial institutions, cyber and international marine.

Alta Signa, which is also a coverholder at Lloyd’s, said the new office in Zug expands its presence in the DACH region, with offices already in Germany and Austria. It added it will draw on capacity from an independent panel to serve its Swiss clients.

Maximillian Moll, branch manager for Alta Signa Europe’s DACH operations, said the new office shows the importance of a local presence in target markets, with Switzerland seen as a growth market.

“With our existing offices in Germany and Austria, the new branch in Switzerland represents the final milestone in our DACH regional footprint. Establishing an office here allows us to leverage our local language skills and distribution networks, which are core to Alta Signa’s unique position in the market,” Moll said.

“This presence will enable us to offer enhanced insurance solutions developed by technical experts and tailored to the specific needs of the Swiss market, where we see strong growth potential.”

Gerard Van Loon, CEO of Alta Signa, added that the office anticipates demand from its target markets in Switzerland. “We believe the Swiss financial services and cyber insurance markets will continue to expand, and offer tremendous opportunities for those that are able to match specialist underwriting expertise and local market insights with global risk capacity, particularly for constantly evolving or newly emerging specialty risks,” he said.
