Aon has further strengthened its position in southern Germany with the appointment of Michael Spörlein as head of sales management in the region and member of the regional management group.
Aon said Spörlein will concentrate on the broker’s strategic and growth-oriented development in south Germany and give advice to multinational customers.
Spörlein brings considerable experience to Aon. After ten years of claims, underwriting and sales activities at a large insurer, he has been looking after and acquiring major customers on the broker side for more than 20 years.
From 2011 to 2018, Spörlein was responsible for business development in southern Germany across various roles, most recently as director of multinational clients at Aon Munich. In the last four years, he has been head of customer service and member of the management board at a medium-sized brokerage firm.
“I’ve known Michael Spörlein for a long time and can’t wait to pull together with him again,” says Harald Resche, managing director at Aon. “With Michael we are able to meet the growing demands of the market. We can promptly and professionally deal with the increasing enquiries about complex risk management and insurance solutions, and further strengthen the proximity to our customers in southern Germany.”
Aon also announced the appointment of Rolf Daverzhofen to its committee for southern Germany.
Daverzhofen joins Aon from Marsh where he worked for more than 40 years, most recently as a senior relationship officer and a member of corporate management.
“Aon has set itself clear goals for the future, including quality and service leadership,” said Mark-Dominik Thofern, managing director at the broker. “These goals can only be achieved with a strong focus on the needs of our customers. For Rolf Daverzhofen, customer focus was a central part of his professional positions. That is why he is an ideal candidate for our advisory board.”
