Aviva enters EEA cyber market through Nirvana partnership
European specialty MGA Nirvana will now underwrite cyber risk on behalf of UK insurer Aviva in the European Economic Area.
Unveiling the new partnership, Aviva said working with Nirvana gives it access to new markets in Europe where it does not house operations, fitting with its broader strategy for expansion.
“We look forward to building our partnership over the coming years as part of our wider strategy of working with a select number of specialist partners to diversify our portfolio beyond the markets in which we have direct presence,” said Stephen Ridley, head of cyber at Aviva.
Nirvana, which specialises in media & technology, errors & omissions, warranty & indemnity as well as cyber, will underwrite cyber risks for Aviva under a multi-year agreement. Andrea García-Beltrán, head of cyber Europe at Nirvana, will lead underwriting for the new binder from Nirvana’s office in Barcelona.
García-Beltrán said the partnership comes at a critical time in the cyber market. “Client awareness of cyber risks is growing and we hope to deliver a market-leading product via our valued broking partners, with backing from one of the most respected insurers,” she said.
