The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has launched a new product with Yutree Underwriting that offers protection against Covid-19 and other risks for SME buyers in the media and entertainment sector.
Available through BIBA member brokers, the policy covers cancellation, abandonment or postponement, cast and extra expenses. It also insures property, liability and business interruption, and can include professional indemnity and terrorism cover.
BIBA told Commercial Risk Europe the scheme provides Covid-19 protection for employer’s liability and would also consider including cover for professional liability.
“The important economic contribution, and particular insurance requirements, of firms in this sector were highlighted during the pandemic and this new scheme enables BIBA member brokers to easily source cover designed for their clients’ needs,” the association said.
Laura Hancock, director at Yutree, said: “We have been working with this sector for many years and 2020/2021 has been a particular challenge for our broker clients. We have worked with the sector to support businesses and brokers through this time. As we emerge from the pandemic, we couldn’t be more delighted to be making our product and specialism available to BIBA members to help them support their clients back to their feet.”
