Big first-half increase in premium for Mapfre but net earnings fall

Mapfre has recorded the largest half-yearly premium volume in the last five years but saw a 7.3% fall in net earnings to €338m.

The insurer said the fall in earnings was driven by the effects of high inflation worldwide and increased mobility following the elimination of Covid-19 restrictions.
