EU chamber in China adds sustainable supply chain award
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, which describes itself as a “champion of corporate social responsibility” for over 20 years, has announced the launch of its 2024 CSR Awards. This year’s awards include a special one: Sustainable supply chain award.
The chamber said that the goal of the CSR Awards is to celebrate organisations dedicated to excellent corporate responsibility in China, highlight innovative and sustainable products and services, and inspire others to ethical action.
This is the 11th year of the awards and includes new awards to better reflect the CSR trends and celebrate the achievements of CSR practices in new areas, said the EUCCC.
“These awards recognise both multinational corporations (MNCs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to corporate social responsibility,” it said.
There are seven core awards:
- Leadership in CSR & sustainable growth;
- Green impact pioneer;
- Climate action leader;
- Excellence in gender equality and empowerment;
- Employee development and engagement;
- NGO/social enterprise; and,
- Excellence in social innovation.
Specially introduced for this year is the sustainable supply chain award, perhaps not surprisingly given the arrival of tough new rules such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
“This award acknowledges companies that have demonstrated leadership in sustainable supply chain management, ensuring environmental, social, and economic sustainability throughout their supply chains,” said the EUCCC.
The deadline for applications is 13 September and the award ceremony takes place in early November. To apply visit www.europeanchamber.com.cn
