Everest Insurance, the primary arm of Everest Re, is entering the Spanish market, offering a wide range of P&C and specialty covers.
The company has received regulatory approval to operate in Spain and is setting up its headquarters in Madrid. A second office will open in Barcelona, all under the leadership of José Ramón Morales.
The Spanish offices will provide a bespoke range of insurance products and risk solutions for key sectors including property, casualty, medical malpractice, financial lines, energy and construction, accident and health, and cyber.
“The Spanish market is quite sophisticated, with a wide range of market exposures that require niche solutions Everest is well positioned to deliver,” said Ramón Morales,
“We are entering Spain with a depth and breadth of innovative product offerings, along with a high calibre of underwriters with a deep understanding of the local market’s needs, empowered to provide superior service to our clients and brokers,” he added.
Everest said it will continue to expand its European insurance footprint. The new Spanish business follows new offices in Germany and France. The company has also expanded into Latin American and Asia-Pacific markets as part of global expansion.
