Howden Norway appoints Larsen as CEO
Howden Norway has named Jan Tinus Larsen as chief executive officer from 1 October, when he will take over from Anders Kvan. Larsen has served as deputy CEO of Howden Norway since 2018, when he joined Howden from W R Berkley Insurance Nordic.
Howden said Kvan, who was a founding member of the broker’s business in Norway and has been in place as CEO since 2006, will remain on the board of Howden Norway. He will work with major clients as well as developing new business lines in marine & energy, Howden said.
Salvador Marin, CEO of Howden Iberia & Northern Europe, said Howden Norway has grown to record a turnover close to €20m under Kvan’s leadership as he welcomed Larsen to the role.
Kvan said: “Leading the company from its inception and growing it into a thriving business with over 80 employees has been a fantastic journey. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together. The time has come to pass the leadership baton, and I am confident that Jan Tinus, who has been instrumental in our success, is well prepared to take the company forward.”
Larsen added: “Anders’ international experience in (re)insurance and the London market has been instrumental in setting Howden Norway apart from its competitors, laying a strong foundation for continued growth. The progress we’ve made wouldn’t have been possible without his exceptional leadership and the dedication of our entire team. I look forward to continuing to work with Anders as we step into our new roles, growing our foothold in the Norwegian market, and building on our strong growth and recent acquisitions.”
