IQUW names head of property

UK-based property and speciality insurer IQUW has named Robbie MacDonald as head of property.

MacDonald gets the promotion from head of property, direct and facultative (D&F), a position he has held since May 2023.

He shared the leadership of the property division with head of property, delegated authority (DA) Tom Hennessey.

Hennesey will continue in that role, reporting to MacDonald, who will report to Steven Tebbutt, active underwriter at IQUW.

MacDonald said he was “thrilled” with the promotion. “Over the last year, [Hennessey] and I have invested in new technology that provides us with greater insight into our portfolio and created new, streamlined processes to provide timely submission updates which enhance our overall property proposition,” he added.

The appointment was welcomed by IQUW group CEO Peter Bilsby, who said that MacDonald has been “an integral part of our property team over the last three years”.

Prior to joining IQUW, MacDonald worked for Tokio Marine in a number of roles. He began his career in 2007 with Marsh as an international property broker.
