Italy fines Amazon and Apple more than €200m for breaching competition rules

The Italian competition watchdog has hit Amazon and Apple with fines of more than €200m for breaking antitrust rules.

The regulator has ordered Apple to pay €134.5m and Amazon €68.7m for flouting Italian and EU laws when selling Beats headphones.

Both Amazon and Apple plan to appeal the fine.
