Lift off for Commercial Risk Asia!

We are launching Commercial Risk Asia, a new media platform dedicated to the information needs of the corporate risk and insurance management community across Asia.

Commercial Risk has had a presence in Asia since launch back in 2010, and this was accelerated by working closely with the Pan Asia Risk & Insurance Management Association (Parima) since its launch back in 2013.

The creation of Parima reflected the fact that the Asia-Pacific risk and insurance management community was coming of age in an era of globalisation, the post credit crunch global economic crisis, climate change, the rise of cyber and resulting desire for a more structured and strategic risk management and transfer.

Parima has successfully tapped into this rising appreciation for professional risk and insurance management since launch, serving its growing member base across the region, with networking and educational services filling a void.

Communication, news and analysis is a critical part of the development of this rapidly maturing community just as it has been in Europe, North America and elsewhere in the world.

We at Commercial Risk play a central part in this supporting role for the community in Europe and with our sister publication Business Insurance in North America.

Our acquisition by specialist media company Beacon International Group, along with Business Insurance and Ins Communications Pte – publisher of the leading regional news and events business Asia Insurance Review (AIR) and Middle East Insurance Review – meant that it made huge sense to ‘up our game’ in Asia, supported by AIR and in close co-operation with Parima.

The effort got underway last September with the launch of our highly successful Construction Risk Management Asia conference in Singapore, which was attended by 250 risk and insurance management experts and leaders in this huge market.

This event – borne out of our popular Construction Risk Management Europe conference that is now in its fifth year – will be repeated this October in Singapore. We will also be launching the first Asian extension of our popular Global Programmes conference in November, also in Singapore.

Beyond the events, the core service will be a monthly newsletter carrying all the top Asian risk and insurance management news and analysis from our now-live new website, dedicated to the information and educational needs of this community.

We will also be carrying out the Asian version of our Risk Frontiers annual survey of leading risk and insurance managers that we have carried out in Europe since 2011. This will be based on in-depth interviews with the leading Parima committee members across the region over the coming months, with the final report published at the association’s Taipei event in November.

Working closely with our colleagues at AIR, we look forward to bringing the same top quality, reliable and, hopefully, challenging intelligence and debate that we already deliver in Europe and further afield.
