Lockton expands Asian marine business

Broker hires Sung Wook Han from WTW

Lockton has appointed Sung Wook Han as regional head of marine for Asia as of 1 August.

Prior to joining Lockton, Sung held the position of head of international hull, GB Marine with Willis Towers Watson in London.

During his 15-year tenure with WTW, he was instrumental in significantly increasing their marine profile and revenues.

Sung led various aspects of insurance, including hull & machinery, war, builders’ risks and other shipping-related risks for clients worldwide, with a focus on regions outside of Europe.

Alistair Rivers, global head of marine at Lockton, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sung to Lockton as our regional head of marine. His extensive experience and proven track record in the insurance industry make him an invaluable addition to our team. Sung’s expertise will add tremendous depth to the strong resources already present in Asia which will assist in the growth acceleration of our marine business.”

Warren Merritt, CEO of Asia, added: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Sung to our global marine team. Asia is such an important region for shipping and transportation, and I am delighted that we have attracted an individual of his calibre to lead us regionally. He joins us at a time when our teams across Asia have driven significant growth and, building on this success, he will lead us to provide a broader range of products and services to our clients.”
