Marsh names new international and UK client advisory leaders

Marsh has appointed Giampaolo Scarso to the newly created role of client advisory services (CAS) leader for its international division, and named Charlie Netherton as CAS leader UK and Ireland.

CAS includes the broker’s global risk consulting, analytics, captive management and claims advocacy support services.

Mr Scarso joined Marsh in 2007 and has held a series of leadership roles during the past decade. Most recently, he was CAS leader for the broker’s continental Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America and Caribbean regions. Based in Milan, he will report to Michael Poulos, global head of client advisory services at Marsh.

Mr Netherton joined the firm in 2016 to lead Marsh Risk Consulting in the UK and Ireland. He will report to Mr Scarso and Chris Lay, CEO of Marsh UK & Ireland. Mr Netherton also joins Marsh’s UK and Ireland executive committee.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Mr Poulos said CAS is a critical part of Marsh’s value proposition. “Globally, clients expect us to be able to advise them on the most complex and challenging risks they face. Giampaolo and Charlie are both talented individuals who will provide clients with access to the full range of Marsh’s solutions and risk expertise,” he added.
