Marsh names risk manager Howell as aviation operational risk consulting leader
Marsh has appointed risk manager Rick Howell as aviation operational risk consulting leader.
Howell will join the broker at the beginning of next year from Cathay Pacific Airways, where he was manager of operational safety and risk management.
That role covered all aspects of aviation safety, security, quality control, business resilience, occupational health and safety, and compliance.
He will now advise Marsh Specialty clients on best practice in operational risk management, safety audits and governance, as well as in non-technical areas such as culture, people safety and mental health.
Howell will be based in Hong Kong and report to Garrett Hanrahan, global head of aviation and space at Marsh Specialty.
He brings 43 years of aviation industry experience to the role. Prior to working at Cathay Pacific Airways, he held senior positions at the Hong Kong Government Flying Service and Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force.
