Medical liability MGA Altea expands into Europe
UK medical liability MGA Altea Insurance has expanded into continental Europe after opening an office in Ireland. Altea said it will now offer its combined insurance and risk management solutions to healthcare professionals across the EEA.
The MGA named France, Italy, Malta, Poland and Spain as potential markets for expansion while also looking at emerging opportunities in Nordic countries.
Alongside insurance solutions, Altea operates risk management platform AlteaPlus, which provides proactive risk management, claim prevention support and medico-legal expertise tailored by territory.
“Altea aims to set a new standard for healthcare risk management in Ireland and beyond,” it said.
Carly Matson, CEO of Altea, added: “Against an increasingly complex risk environment, there is a growing demand for integrated insurance and risk mitigation services in Ireland and across the continent. Altea integrates medical and legal expertise, offering a distinctive tiered risk management product suite to pre-emptively address exposures with a unified approach, avoiding siloed solutions. This marks a significant shift, allowing insureds to mitigate risks proactively.”
She said Altea’s team in Ireland has already built relationships and partnerships to provide tailored solutions to meet the needs of Irish buyers, a model that will be replicated across Europe.
“Our approach is to build meaningful partnerships with our clients, simplifying the insurance procurement process through one point of contact,” Matson said.
