MS Amlin expands risk team with four new hires
Specialty insurer MS Amlin Underwriting has expanded its risk function for 2022 with four appointments under chief risk officer Vishal Desai.
John Winder joined the Lloyd’s (re)insurer in January from Hiscox as senior manager of MS Amlin’s insurance risk pillar.
Victoria Harding is due to join MS Amlin as head of ERM from CNA Hardy, where she worked for six years on strategic risk reviews and risk management frameworks.
Wendy Kriz has been appointed as senior manager of the firm’s validation and risk intelligence pillar, with 20 years’ actuarial experience across reserving and capital.
Maurice Rose has joined MS Amlin from PwC, where he was senior manager for its risk and regulatory insurance practice. At MS Amlin, Rose takes on the role of senior manager of the ERM pillar.
In addition to their company roles, Rose is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the industry and chairs Link, the cross-insurance industry LGBTQ+ network.
Kriz, meanwhile, is an advocate for sustainability issues and is an active member of the Institute and Faculties of Actuaries’ sustainability board.
Desai said the expanded new team would be “best in class”.
“Investment in this top-tier talent reflects the value the business has come to place in the risk function as a trusted source of insight, challenge and as a key partner to all material decision-making,” Desai said.
