Munich Re’s Michellon becomes chief executive for continental Europe

Munich Re’s Patrice Michellon has announced his appointment as chief executive of continental Europe at the reinsurer.

Michellon said on LinkedIn that he will join the leadership team headed by Clarisse Kopff, executive board member for non-life reinsurance in Europe and Latin America.

As chief executive of continental Europe, Michellon will manage Munich Re’s non-life reinsurance portfolios in France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and CEE countries.

Michellon moves into the role after two years as chief executive for specialty reinsurance at Munich Re, where he led the marine, agriculture, aviation and contingency teams for global treaty reinsurance.

Michellon joined Munich Re in 2016 as head of Munich Re France, where he worked for six years before moving to head up specialty reinsurance.
