Sompo names head of financial lines in Germany and Austria

Sompo has appointed René Ehlen as head of financial lines, insurance, for Germany and Austria. Ehlen was previously head of cyber for Sompo’s operations in Germany and Austria but will now manage the entire financial lines portfolio across the two countries.

Ehlen will continue to be based in Cologne and will report to Malte Dittmann, country manager, insurance, for Germany and Austria.

Dittmann said the appointment underlines Sompo’s ambitions to expand its financial lines business in Germany and Austria, adding that Ehlen’s expertise will help shape its strategy to further develop the portfolio.
