Verisk announces new CEO and president
Lee Shavel, chief financial officer (CFO) and group president of Verisk Analytics, will succeed Scott Stephenson as CEO when he retires.
As first reported in our sister publication Business Insurance, Mark Anquillare, chief operating officer (COO) and group president, will become president of Verisk when Stephenson retires following Verisk’s 2022 annual shareholder meeting.
Stephenson joined the analytics firm in 2001 and was named COO in 2008, president in 2011 and CEO in 2013. During his tenure as CEO, Verisk became part of the S&P 500 index.
His joint CEO, chair and president roles will now be split.
Shavel joined Verisk in 2017 as CFO and also became group president of the company’s energy and financial services segments last year.
Anquillare has been Verisk’s COO since 2016 and served as CFO from 2009 to 2016. He has been with the company for almost 30 years.
Upon his retirement, Stephenson will also step down from the Verisk board of directors, following the 2022 annual meeting.
Shavel’s replacement as CFO will be named at a later date.
