Zurich North America appoints new head of group captives

Zurich has appointed Jason Meador as head of group captives in alternative markets for Zurich North America, effective 1 January 2019. He will be responsible for the operational management of Zurich’s group captives business, including member-owned, agency and fronted captives, and ensuring strong relationships with captive consultants and captives boards.

He will continue to report directly to David Putz, head of alternative markets, Zurich North America, and will be based in Schaumburg, Illinois. “Jason’s deep business experience, focus on strategy and innovative mindset position him well for leading our captives business,” said Mr Putz.

Mr Meador was previously chief operating officer for alternative markets, a position he held since January 2018. Before that, he was head of strategic execution for North America. He joined Zurich in 2013 as the strategy business partner supporting the former commercial markets business unit and technical underwriting. Prior to joining Zurich, he was a principal with The Boston Consulting Group, and before that he was a lieutenant in the US Navy.
