Adrian Ladbury – Director and Co-owner
I am a specialist risk and insurance journalist and publisher with almost 30 years’ experience. In my time I have edited most of the leading UK-based risk and insurance publications including Post Magazine, Insurance Age, The Review and Reinsurance. I was an insurance reporter for Lloyd’s List newspaper during the near demise of Lloyd’s of London in the early 1990s and part of the launch team of Insurance Day. I became publishing director of Informa Financial, then joined Crain Communications in 2007 to launch its international operations through Business Insurance Europe and subsequently launched Rubicon Media in 2010.
Liz Booth – Editor, Commercial Risk Africa
I have more than 30 years’ experience as a journalist and editor, first working with both Adrian and Stewart at Informa on Insurance Day where I was news editor. I have worked on a mix of consumer and business titles but, for the past decade, have concentrated on the insurance and risk sector, editing Maritime Risk International and Risk Universe among other titles. Having grown up in west Africa and then lived in South Africa, I have a life-long commitment to the continent.

As a journalist, I have covered the commercial insurance and risk management sector for nearly thirty years. I was editor of the UK’s first risk management magazine Corporate Cover, as well as editor of the Airmic magazine Business Risk. I was also launch editor of the first UK public sector risk management magazine – Public Sector Risk – and UK correspondent for Business Insurance Europe. I’ve contributed to most of the leading re/insurance and risk management publications, as well as CFO Europe and the Financial Times.
Ben Norris – Web Editor Commercial Risk and Deputy Editor, Commercial Risk Europe
With 10 years’ experience of writing about the commercial insurance buying and risk management industry, I began working for Commercial Risk Europe when it launched in 2010. I edit CRE’s weekly newsletter as well as deliver its monthly newspaper. Following a Media, Film and English degree from Southampton University my career in journalism began when I joined Crain Communication’s Business Insurance Europe team in 2008 and I subsequently combined that role with web editing.
Nicholas Pratt – Editor, Commercial Risk Asia
I have been a business and finance journalist since 1999. In this time I have edited a number of risk-themed publications including Risk Professional (financial risk), IRM Journal (insurance) and Enterprise Risk (corporate risk). I have also written for a number of financial publications including the Financial Times, Financial News, The Banker and Funds Europe, as well as Asia-based publications such as the Redback Reporter. I have worked with Rubicon Media since 2012 and became editor of Commercial Risk Asia in September 2016.
Alan Booth – Art Director
I started my career in London trade titles in the early 1990s before moving to Brussels to work for the Wall Street Journal Europe as a news desk designer, and subsequently spearheaded the first phase of the global Journal’s ‘millenenium project’ redesign working with Columbia University’s Mario Garcia. In 2002 I was back in London working at the Sunday Times. In 2006 I was appointed to lead the design for Crain’s new title Business Insurance Europe which is where I met Adrian, Hugo and Ben and I joined Rubicon Media in 2010, at inception, to break ground with Commercial Risk Europe.

As a sub-editor, production editor and art editor, I have 12 years’ experience in financial publishing with leading organisations including Incisive Media, the Chartered Insurance Institute and FT Business.
At Rubicon Media, I am responsible for the design, art, layout, sub-editing and production of Commercial Risk Africa and its ancillary reports and supplements. I also sub-edit copy for Commercial Risk Europe and Commercial Risk Asia.

I have over 23 years’ experience of providing premium content and marketing solutions for most of the leading UK-based insurance publications. I was a managing director for Euromoney Institutional Investor Plc with responsibility for the insurance, asset management and derivatives businesses that included Reactions magazine. Whilst at Euromoney I led the acquisition and integration of Insider Publishing Ltd that owned The Insurance Insider. Prior to joining Euromoney I was group publishing director for Informa’s Insurance Division with responsibility for Insurance Day and its subscription-based newsletters. Prior to joining Informa I was sales manager for the UK’s leading general insurance publication Post Magazine.

Prior to setting up Rubicon Media with Adrian in 2010 I was sales manager for Crain’s Business Insurance Europe. Before joining Crain Communications I set up Insight Media Ltd to serve the information needs of the aerospace and airports sectors.

I have been working for Rubicon Media since its inception in 2010, and I am responsible for managing the delivery of our European and African events that we host throughout the year. I am also responsible for coordinating the logistics and production of our print and digital publications.
Prior to joining Rubicon Media, and following a degree in publishing, I worked in the book-publishing industry for ten years. I have a strong design and customer service background.
