Credit and political risk insurance broker BPL appoints new director

Lizzie Thomas has been appointed as director at BPL, the broker specialising exclusively in credit and political risk insurance.

BPL said the move is designed to bolster its broking teams in both Europe and the US. According to BPL, she will be heavily involved in work with some of BPL’s largest financial institution clients across Europe and the US.

Thomas has more than ten years of experience in the insurance industry. She joins BPL from Marsh, where she was lenders solutions group leader, UK – credit specialties. She also held positions in aviation and aerospace, as well as political risk and structured credit-related roles.

Thomas will work primarily out of BPL’s London headquarters and in connection with its New York office. She will report to James Reynolds, deputy CEO, BPL.

Reynolds said: “Lizzie’s remarkable expertise and energy have not gone unnoticed by the BPL team over the years, and we are delighted to have her join our ranks. Her presence and respect in our market speak volumes, and her addition will undoubtedly be an asset to our teams and clients across Europe and in the US.”
