BHSI expands global marine capabilities in US
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is expanding its global marine capabilities in the US with the launch of ocean marine insurance.
Along with a new ocean marine form in the US, BHSI is also introducing enhanced inland marine offerings for US customers in the construction, transportation and specialty segments.
BHSI said its ocean and inland marine coverages worldwide are tailored for midmarket and large, risk managed customers. To support the new capabilities, BHSI has appointed Ben Wyatt as head of marine in the US and Chris Frick as head of marine claims in the US.
“BHSI continues to expand our marine capabilities and team around the globe. This US expansion is the latest example,” said Dimitry Zilberud, marine executive, BHSI. “Ben will lead our regional team of underwriters and bring our far-reaching marine offerings to retail and wholesale brokers across the US, while Chris delivers on our ‘claims is our product’ philosophy for customers.”
Wyatt comes to BHSI with more than a decade of experience in marine insurance. He was most recently head of cargo at another insurer and is based in New York. Frick has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience. Most recently, he spent 16 years in various leadership positions in marine claims at another major insurer and is also based in New York.
