Charles Taylor boosts European marine expertise with V+B Group acquisition

Charles Taylor has bolstered its European marine capabilities through the acquisition of Rotterdam-based V+B Group. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

V+B Group is a maritime assurance and surveying company that consists of Verschoor & Bras, Marinco Survey and Marintec Expertise.

The three businesses will continue to trade under their existing names as part of Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services.

V+B Group provides end-to-end survey solutions to the European maritime market, ranging from claims investigations to assessments and inspections. It is particularly focused on the Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp area, as well as the northern Netherlands region.

Charles Taylor said the deal will expand its marine surveying capabilities and boost its presence in Europe.

“The acquisition of V+B Group brings more than a century’s worth of marine expertise and relationships into the Charles Taylor family,” said Oliver Hutchings, managing director of marine at the loss adjuster.

“Its management team, led by Roelof Boerma and Frits Vlugter, have driven V+B’s Group’s success to date and with our support, will be perfectly placed to continue on this trajectory. We look forward to welcoming them into our global team and building on their impressive momentum,” he added.
