Aon names new global president of Risk Solutions business Aon has made changes to its global leadership team, appointing Warren Mula to the newly created role of president of Aon Risk Solutions and Tom Fitzgerald as CEO of Aon Broking. Mr Mula and Mr Fitzgerald are both in charge of worldwide operations. The firm has also made changes to its US operations naming Lori Goltermann as CEO of Aon Risk Solutions US Retail, Steve Keogh as president of Aon Risk Solutions US Retail and Will Seneden as US health and benefits practice leader. Aon said the five appointments are designed to enhance its global broking capabilities and support clients in the US.hideMr Mula will serve as a strategic adviser across Aon's Risk Solutions business. He was most recently CEO at Aon Broking and will continue to support the broking agenda. Prior to this role, Mr Mula served as chairman of Aon Risk Solutions US, where he oversaw client service management activities. Mr Fitzgerald replaces Mr Mula at Aon Broking, having previously led the Aon Risk Solutions US Retail business. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving innovative solutions with market partners and further globalising the firm's broking capabilities. Following Mr Fitzgerald's move to Aon Broking, two veteran executives will lead the Aon Risk Solutions US Retail business with Mr Goltermann as CEO and Steve Keogh as president. Liberty appoints World Bank's Edith Quintrell to global financial risk team Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Edith Quintrell as US-based underwriting development director for its Global Financial Risks division. Ms Quintrell was formerly director of operations of the World Bank's political risk insurance arm-the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). She will be based in Washington DC complementing LSM's underwriting teams in London, Paris and Singapore. At LSM she will develop product capabilities and service offering to clients and brokers. Ms Quintrell will focus on business with public agencies such as multilaterals, export credit agencies and development finance institutions. Prior to joining MIGA, Ms Quintrell held various senior level positions in the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), including vice president for insurance and director of technical operations. She was also active in the Berne Union. Peter Sprent, LSM's head of global financial risks, said: "Edith brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team, having held senior management positions in two of the world's leading political risk agencies. We are thrilled that she is joining us." Marsh Captive Solutions appoints Thomas-Ferrand as strategy and operations leader for EMEA and Asia Pac Will Thomas-Ferrand has been appointed strategy and operations leader for EMEA and Asia Pacific at Marsh Captive Solutions. Stephen Portelli will succeed Mr Thomas-Ferrand as head of Marsh's Captive Solutions in Malta. Both will report to Ian Clancy, Marsh Captive Solutions' practice leader, EMEA and Asia Pacific. In this newly created role, Mr Thomas-Ferrand will work closely with Mr Clancy and Chris Lay, president of Marsh Captive Solutions, to develop consistent policies, practices and platforms across Marsh Captive Solutions. Mr Thomas-Ferrand has relocated to the UK from Marsh Captive Solutions in Malta. Mr Portelli will succeed Mr Thomas-Ferrand, providing strategic captive management advice to Marsh's clients globally. He will be supported by David Galea as deputy head of office. Mr Portelli and Mr Galea have both worked for Marsh for nearly 10 years. Mr Lay said on the appointments: "More and more companies are viewing their captive insurance programmes as strategically important corporate assets, as they raise the visibility of risk management costs and serve as an effective control tool. Will brings tremendous experience to this newly created role and I look forward to working with him to deliver innovative captive insurance programmes to our clients globally, regardless of their size, industry or geography." Aspen's Kevin Miller takes new COO role at AEGIS London AEGIS London has appointed Kevin Miller to the newly created role of chief operating officer. Mr Miller will join the firm in March from Aspen where he was director of UK operations. He will report to AEGIS London's managing director David Croom-Johnson. At AEGIS London Mr Miller will focus on delivering the company's recently announced London-focused strategy. This centres on building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with brokers operating in London rather than looking for growth through international expansion programmes. He will be involved in the development and use of online trading platforms. He will also take the lead on innovation across all of the company's operations with the aim of ensuring that AEGIS London remains "agile and able to adapt quickly to the ever-changing marketplace". Mr Miller has spent over 26 years in the insurance and financial services sector. Following initial roles with EY, NatWest and ING Group, he joined Beazley Specialty Lines as global chief operating officer in 2005. He joined Aspen in 2011. Mr Croom-Johnson said: "Kevin is a leading figure in the London insurance market with a strong track record in business process reform and technological innovation. He will be a tremendous asset to our business and will have a tangible impact on our future development, particularly our focus on building in-depth relationships with London-based brokers who are at the heart of our strategy."
