AGCS North America and Fireman's Fund name new leadership team A new team will lead the combined Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty North American and Fireman's Fund business from 2015. Andrew Torrance, current President & CEO of Fireman's Fund Insurance Company (FFIC), will step down from his position on 1 January, 2015. Art Moossmann, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) board member with responsibility for the US, will fill his role. Mr Moossmann will take on dual responsibility for both FFIC and AGCS North America as president & CEO of both companies.hideAs previously announced, Hugh Burgess, AGCS North America's current CEO, will become AGCS' global head of mid-corporate effective 1 January, 2015. AGCS and FFIC announced the integration of their US commercial P&C businesses in September. The firms said the move will allow them to create one face to market under the Allianz brand. They said that the new leadership structure aligns with the global business model of AGCS, reflects the regional scope of the North American market and brings FFIC and AGCS managers into one team under Mr Moossmann. The leadership team will coordinate the transition from the current structure to the new AGCS structure in 2015. It will oversee the integration of the FFIC Commercial Lines management into AGCS and run the combined business. It will also take responsibility for the Personal Insurance division of FFIC, pending decisions on the future direction of this part of the business. JLT opens credit, political & security risk India hub JLT's credit, political & security risk (CPS) team has opened a new international hub in India. The new unit will become the tenth international hub set up by JLT's CPS practice. Ketan Kale will lead business development at the Indian hub. He joins JLT from Marsh India where he has spent the last seven years specialising in structured credit and political risks. JLT said Mr Kale has extensive experience in structuring insurance solutions for complex transactions and arranging structured credit policies for financial institutions-both in India and further afield. Nick Robson, Managing Director of CPS at JLT Specialty, said: "JLT aims to be market leader in each of our chosen areas of specialist activity, and, as the leading CPS specialist in India, I am confident that Ketan we will help us deliver client value in this critical growth market. I am personally delighted that JLT CPS is represented so well in India today following our initiation of CPS activity in the subcontinent nearly 20 years ago." Barbican appoints new cyber and tech underwriter Barbican Insurance Group has appointed Matthew Waller as cyber, technology and media underwriter. He will report to Geoff White, Underwriting Manager-Cyber, Technology and Media. Mr Waller has previously worked as both an insurer and a broker. Most recently he was a senior underwriter at ACE USA. Prior to this he worked for Frank Crystal & Company. Commenting on the appointment, Mr White said: "The cyber arena is one in which we see significant opportunities for growth driven by product innovation and the ability to deliver bespoke solutions. Barbican has already established a prominent position in the sector by providing flexible, comprehensive solutions built around the specific needs of the individual client. Matthew brings a strong combination of both broking and underwriting expertise from the US cyber market. He has already built a strong track record for identifying opportunities and expanding market penetration, and is a great addition to the team."
