ACE enhances D&O cover for UK and Irish market ACE has enhanced its Elite D&O Cover for both private and listed companies in the UK and Ireland. According to ACE, its developed Elite V policy breaks with traditional market practice by providing three distinct coverage enhancements demanded by customers. These are: a preservation of the Side A limit when unrelated claims give rise to erosion under Side B or Side C protection for the company in the event of a securities claim under a new cyber privacy and confidentiality extension, the product also protects directors against losses arising from unauthorised disclosure of data or breach of privacy hideSimon Million, UK & Ireland D&O Manager at ACE, said: "We are highly attuned to the needs of our clients and this enhanced wording responds to their concerns that Side A limits may not be available following claims on another part of the policy. It also addresses growing concerns in relation to the rising tide of cyber threats, which are becoming more sophisticated, more challenging and increase the exposure of directors and officers because of their capacity to affect the financial performance of the organisation." AGCS appoints key account manager Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Edward Nicklin as key account manager. Based in the company's London office he will focus on building relationships with clients and brokers. He will report to Brian Kirwan, Head of Market Management & Communications UK. Mr Nicklin has ten years' experience in the insurance industry. For the past four years he has worked for Zurich Global Corporate as a broker development manager. Mr Kirwan said on the appointment: "Edward is another great addition to the market management team in the UK. With him onboard, we can continue to build on the success we have achieved and offer clients the highest level of service. Through his career Edward has worked in both the client and broker spheres, which provides him with an ideal overview and skills to help deliver our growth plans for the future." FM Global appoints Nicholas Batten as Vice President, Manager of Global Services Specialist property insurer FM Global has appointed Nicholas Batten to the newly created Vice President, Manager of Global Services position. Based in the US he will act as a resource for FM Global's worldwide operations with particular focus on structuring global programmes for multinational clients. Mr Batten will also oversee the governance of the firm's WorldReach insurance and service network and ensure the consistent and compliant delivery of the company's underwriting, engineering and claims services. Mr Batten was previously assistant vice president, international practice leader at FM Global. He joined the firm in 2000 as a client service representative in the company's Windsor, UK office and then served as an account manager for several years in Stockholm, Sweden. He has held a variety of roles within the company since, each with increasing responsibility. Prior to joining FM Global, Mr Batten worked in the financial services industry as a retail broker. Kiln appoints new credit & surety underwriter in Germany Kiln, the specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriting business that is now part of the Tokio Marine group, has appointed Werner Richter as Regional Head of Credit, Surety & Special Risk in Germany. Based in Kiln's Frankfurt operation Mr Richter will write a broad range of specialist credit and surety risks, including structured trade credit and surety bonds reinsurance. Kiln's regional managing director for Europe, Olivier Terlinden, said: "Kiln will benefit from Werner's wealth of experience and expertise in financial insurance as we pursue the continued development of our operations in Europe. Having established a solid working knowledge of the insurance markets in Munich and London, Werner is very well placed to respond to growing client needs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for this increasingly sought-after area of insurance. We are very excited to welcome him to the role." On 4 December, 2013, Kiln announced that it was set to join forces with Tokio Marine Europe to create Tokio Marine Kiln Group Ltd, an international provider of specialist and corporate insurance. DAC Beachcroft open New York representative office International law firm DAC Beachcroft has opened a representative office in New York to help further the firm's multi-jurisdictional insurance capabilities. It will have a particular focus on Latin America as well as international commercial litigation and arbitration. Specialists from DAC Beachcroft's international network will be available at the New York representative office on a rotating basis regularly throughout the year. The core team will include the following partners: David Pollitt (Head of Insurance), Paulino Fajardo (Head of Global), Adrian Williams (Corporate Insurance), Francisco Fernandes-Fletes (Head of Mexico Office), Nick Young (Engineering & Construction), Julian Miller (Reinsurance), Mark Sutton (Financial Lines) and Matthew Wescott (Commercial Litigation/Arbitration). David Pollitt, Head of DAC Beachcroft's Insurance Sector, said: "New York is a very important market for many of our insurance clients. We already have a number of strong relationships with major international insurers. They are increasingly more interested in our unique global offering, particularly in relation to our own-office Latin America coverage where we now have a formidable presence in Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
