Editor’s welcome

The whole issue of international insurance programmes and cross-border risks has become such an important and complex area that we at Commercial Risk Europe believe that a dedicated publication is required to deliver the level of news, views and analysis needed by our core readers to help them make sense of it all and choose the best solutions.

This is why we are launching International Programme News which will track changes in national and regional insurance regulations, and changes to national fiscal rules that affect the way that taxes are due and paid for coverage bought locally and at international level.

It will report on developments at international level that affect the way cross-border insurance programmes are regulated and accounted for, and will look at legal cases with direct relevance to the supervision, accounting and taxation of insurance coverage on a national and cross-border basis.

It will also examine initiatives from insurers, brokers and captive managers to help risk and insurance managers improve the way they manage and transfer their cross-border risks. And it will look at wider cross-border issues such as trade credit and political risk.

Each month International Programme News will carry news and views, including a Tax and Regulatory Round Up, a Market Report looking at territories beyond Europe, an Expert View from a leading specialist and an interview with a leading multinational risk manager.

IPN is free to readers of CRE and is backed up by its own web space within the CRE website. On this site readers will also have access to our IPN Databank. It will hold a database of tax and regulatory news and a white paper section where leading market experts will be able to post more in-depth studies and analyses on subjects of interest to managers of international risks.

We hope that you find this new newsletter of value and, as ever, would welcome any feedback from you-positive or negative-to help us ensure that it meets your needs. We also welcome any news, views and analysis.

I look forward to hearing from you.
