Ferma elects new board

Ferma has elected a new board headed by president Dirk Wegener.

Lene Ritz, of Denmark’s Narim and CRO for Energinet, was appointed as a new board member. So too was Simon Grima from Malta’s Marm. Mr Grima is head of the department of insurance, faculty of economics, management and accountancy at the University of Malta.

The remaining five Ferma board members have been appointed to fill a second mandate:

  • Philippe Cotelle (AMRAE) – head of insurance risk management, airbus defence and space
  • Tapio Huovinen (Finnrima) – director of risk management at UPM-Kymmene
  • Gaëtan Lefèvre (Belrim) – group risk, insurance and ethics manager at John Cockerill Group
  • Xavier Mutzig (Airmic) – group insurance and insurable risk director at Johnson Matthey
  • Laurent Nihoul (ALRiM) -–general manager, corporate risk and insurance at ArcelorMittal.

The Ferma 2020 Risk Management Seminar will be held in Antwerp on 12-13 October and will also feature online content, due to continuing travel restrictions. Mr Wegener said the seminar’s theme – ‘Corporate and finance: Financing the ever growing universe of risk’ – has become even more relevant post-Covid-19.
