The London Market Group (LMG) has named Caroline Wagstaff as its permanent CEO, after she took over on a temporary basis in April this year.
The LMG is a market-wide body, bringing together specialist commercial (re)insurance broking and underwriting communities in London. It is supported by the International Underwriting Association of London, Lloyd’s of London, the Lloyd’s Market Association and the London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association.
Matthew Moore, chairman of the LMG, said Ms Wagstaff has done an excellent job as CEO and its board is “delighted” to make the move permanent.
“This means that she will be now able to bring a longer-term view to bear, tackling big issues such as cultural change, climate change and technological change in the London market on behalf of our organisation and members,” said Mr Moore.
Ms Wagstaff said: “It has been fascinating to work with the LMG and all its members over the last six months, and this period has given me a great opportunity to grow into the role of CEO for the group, as well as begin to understand what our agenda needs to be over the coming years.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with insurers, brokers, Lloyd’s, the government and the regulator to help grow the UK insurance sector, and further build its international reputation,” she added.
