Galloway named Regional Head of Liability at Allianz Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Tim Galloway as its new Regional Head of Liability with responsibility for the company's related portfolio in the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Australia and New Zealand. Mr Galloway joined AGCS in 2010 as a Senior Liability Underwriter and has over 14 years' experience in the corporate insurance market. He has held a variety of underwriting/commercial positions at various insurers, including four years in Australia. His new responsibilities include coordination of AGCS' liability portfolio across the various territories and product development within the division.hideHe takes up his new role with immediate effect and is based in London where he will report to Carsten Scheffel, CEO AGCS Regional Unit London. Mr Scheffel said on the appointment: "Tim's experience and leadership skills are a real asset to the team. Since joining the company he has demonstrated a strong natural ability in this field and I am very confident that he will steer the business to greater levels of success." AGCS appoints new Russia head Phillip Gronemeyer has been named the new Country Manager for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) in Russia. Appointed on 1 June , he succeeds Willy Schaugg, who recently joined the Global Broker Management Team of the Allianz Group as a Global Account Director. Mr Gronemeyer joined the Allianz Group in 2004 and has held positions around the world. He began his Allianz career as a member of a trainee programme in Australia and then became an underwriter in industrial property insurance for AGCS Pacific in Sydney and later in Dubai. After then working as the Executive Assistant for AGCS CEO Axel Theis, he most recently served as the Head of Underwriting Coordination for Growth Markets, where he oversaw AGCS's property insurance business for emerging countries in Asia, South America and eastern Europe. "We are excited to have Phillip Gronemeyer leading our business in Russia," said Stig Jensen, CEO Nordic Region & Central Eastern Europe. "He knows the insurance business from the ground up and has a deep understanding of market conditions in fast growing economies as a result of his many international assignments." AGCS underwrites industrial insurance business in Russia through reinsurance of Allianz Russia. A specialist AGCS team was established in Moscow in April 2012 to lead this business. Over the next five years, AGCS plans to boost its premium volume in emerging countries by approximately 30%. The Russian business unit is expected to contribute significantly to this effort. "All signs are pointing to growth in the Russian industrial insurance market," Mr Gronemeyer said. "We intend to expand our market share significantly." AGCS offers insurance solutions in all key product lines in Russia-property, liability, financial lines and engineering as well as energy, aviation, transport and marine. AIG improves airside liability offering from regional UK offices AIG in the UK has launched its improved Airside Premises and Contractors Liability protection, offering clients what it claims are market-leading limits of indemnity and up to $50m of war and terrorism cover included as standard. "This new offering will benefit both clients and brokers," said Mark Heath, Head of Aerospace, UK. "Our offices around the UK are now able to provide local decisions, as well as client documentation, resulting in a more efficient service. In addition, we could offer specific loss control services and, should the worst happen, all policy holders know that they have access to a dedicated and experienced aerospace claims team working in conjunction with their local AIG office." He added that airports in the UK are seeing increasing passenger numbers and general air traffic. "The result is that there is an increased demand for airside services and therefore more exposure for our clients around the country," he said. Risks include a wide range of services from VIP pick up and drop offs, to delivery companies and cleaners, said AIG. In addition, contractors requiring insurance include electricians, glaziers and installers of solar panels through to constructors of new terminals and runways, it added. James Cunnington joins Hardy as Head of Reinsurance James Cunnington has joined Lloyd's insurer Hardy as Head of Reinsurance. Mr Cunnington moves from Kiln, where he spent the previous 11 years. He began his career on Kiln's graduate training scheme and has specialised in reinsurance since 2004. In his most recent role as Kiln's Outwards Reinsurance Manager he was responsible for co-coordinating the reinsurance arrangements for multiple syndicates across a broad spectrum of business classes. Commenting on the appointment, Patrick Gage, Director of Underwriting at Hardy, said: "I'm thrilled James has decided to join Hardy, he brings first rate technical and operational knowledge as well as extensive experience in designing and managing reinsurance placements. Mier appointed to Catlin's Group Exec Committee Jo Mier, Catlin Group Ltd's Chief of Staff, has been appointed to the Catlin Group Executive Committee (GEC) with immediate effect. Remaining as Chief of Staff, Ms Mier will continue to be responsible for strategic planning, research and development activities, and the agenda of the GEC. Ms Mier joined Catlin in 2001 as a US Casualty Underwriter. In 2003, she was appointed to Operations Director for Casualty underwriting and was promoted to Group IT Director in 2007. She was appointed Chief of Staff in February 2010. Stephen Catlin, Chief Executive of Catlin Group Limited, said: "I am delighted to announce that Jo Mier has been appointed to Catlin's Group Executive Committee. Jo has more than 25 years of experience in the industry across a broad range of disciplines, and her appointment to the GEC recognises her accomplishments at Catlin as well as her important role in the executive management of the group."
