New London-based MGA launched by climate risk underwriter Arbol
Climate risk solutions provider Arbol is expanding into the UK with the launch of a new London-based MGA that will service the international insurance markets outside the US.
Arbol’s UK MGA will offer a range of products for the agriculture, renewable energy, and construction industries, and it will use its UK partnerships with capacity providers and brokers to broaden its global network.
“Our expansion into the UK is a pivotal moment for Arbol”, said Sid Jha, CEO and founder of Arbol. “We aim to provide businesses with straightforward and practical tools to manage climate risks. Our London-based MGA combines the proprietary technology, data, and underwriting tools of the Arbol ecosystem with our team’s global expertise in structuring climate solutions, offering businesses a reliable shield against seasonal and catastrophic climate risks. As climate change impacts more businesses and communities globally, we remain steadfast in our mission to help global stakeholders build operational resilience against these risks.”
Hector Ibarra, managing director of Arbol Insurance Services – UK, added: “Arbol specialises in parametric financial products, offering businesses a streamlined approach to managing climate risks. Clients benefit from rapid claims payments once pre-set triggers are met. This ensures rapid economic recovery, simplified claims processing, and consistent cash flow for businesses.”
Independent MGA incubator platform Pro MGA Global Solutions has been appointed by Arbol to support its UK launch. Pro MGA said it will deploy its full incubation services, providing Arbol with the necessary strategic and regulatory oversight, as well as back office services.
Danny Maleary, CEO of Pro MGA Global Solutions, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Arbol’s UK and international growth ambitions for its MGA strategy, and look forward to helping the company to realise its important expansion plans in this sector. We very much look forward to working with the Arbol team as they continue their mission to empower organisations and individuals to achieve financial climate resilience.”
